Solid Surface

Solid surface is a man-made material usually composed of a combination of marble dust, bauxite, acrylic, epoxy or polyester resins and pigments. It is most frequently used for seamless countertop installations. Solid surface was first introduced by DuPont in 1967 under the name of Corian. Since the expiration of their patent, other manufacturers have also introduced their brands as well. Other brands include KRION, Merino hanex , Aristech Avonite, LG HI-MACS, Meganite, Samsung Staron, Swan Swanstone, Wilsonart Solid Surface, and others.

Welcome to Krion® - Solid Surface Design Consultancy

Atlantis Projects are for now focusing to work mostly with KRION, because we are certified by Porcelanosa (Spain) to work with this material.

KRION® is a new generation solid surface developed by Systempool - a company that is part of the Porcelanosa Group. It is a solid surface material that is warm to the touch and feels similar to natural stone. Its exclusive solid surface formula allows Porcelanosa to create the most versatile shapes for the most diverse applications.

It is made of two-thirds natural minerals (ATH – aluminium trihydride) and a low percentage of high-resistance resins. This composition gives KRION™ a number of exclusive features: it does not have any pores, it is anti-bacterial without any type of additive, it is hard-wearing, highly resistant and easy to repair, only requires minimum maintenance and is easy to clean.

Among Porcelanosa’s KRION® Solid Surface benefits are that it is non porous, and it features an anti-bacterial surface that has not been altered by any type of additive. KRION® is a hard-wearing, highly resistant and easy to repair material that only requires minimum maintenance. KRION® is cut in a similar way to wood, allowing us to cut the sheets, connect them, and thermoform them to create curved sections.

KRION® can be injected during the production process or cut out to create intricate designs on the surface, making it possible to create different designs and projects that are impossible to achieve with other materials. Seamless sections can be created, preventing liquids from being absorbed and making cleaning and maintenance easier.

Porcelanosa offers KRION® in a wide range of colors, including a white finish that stands out for its purity and neutrality in comparison with other similar material. KRION® is an ecological material, as it is 100% recyclable and can be reprocessed and reused in the production cycle.
